  • 5th SEPTEMBER, 2011 TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

    • 5th Sept, an auspicious day for the teaching fraternity, as it is the day the Nation pays its gratitude to teachers. Hansraj Morarji Charity Trust for the last few years has been doing a commendable task by bringing the teaching and non-teaching staff of Hansraj, Rajhans and Balvatika together to celebrate this significant day.

This year also the programme to felicitate the teachers began at the scheduled time. Mr. Udeshi, Capt. Kumawat and the principals of the three schools were the guests of honour. The auditorium was brimming with happy faces. Rajhans brood stood out from the rest in the uniformed saree.

The programme began with a speech by Leah Gomes ( School Captain of Rajhans Vidyalaya ), wherein she emphasized the challenging job of teachers today. It was followed by an original welcome song by the students of Hansraj Morarji Public school; the lyrics and music of which was composed by their own music teacher. Next, the students of Baikabibai E.C.C. E & A course performed a beautiful dance recital dedicated to Ganpati. The children of Hansraj Morarji school presented a contemporary ballet depicting the eternal struggle between the evil and the good and how in the end, the good always triumphs. But the item which took the cake was the medley of folk dance presented by the Rajhans students. The riot of colour, the visuals, the rope trick and the lilting rhythm of the music had a mesmerizing effect on the audience.

After the brief but highly entertaining programme, the teachers were called on stage and honoured by a token of appreciation given to them by the Trust. The brief speech by our trustee, Mr. Udeshi reminded the teachers of their responsibility ahead.

  • ANNUAL SCHOOL EXHIBITION – 3rd DECEMBER, 2011

  • THE SECRETS OF THE SEA

“The earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountains and the sea, are excellent school masters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from our books.”

An exhibition engages your brain, hands and social skills in playful investigation. The School Exhibition on the 3rd Dec, 2011, hosted by Rajhans Vidyalaya, was a scientific journey into the various realms of the ocean, entitled “THE SECRETS OF THE SEA”. The exhibition was inaugurated by our esteemed Chief Guests’ Cdr. Abhishek Kankan & Dr. Shankar N. Gajbhiye. Capt. B. C. Kumawat and Shri D.D. Udeshi also visited the exhibition. Our guests were awestruck by the exhibits they saw and interacted with our students on the work done by them.

The challenge was to drain the imagination of the students and explore the unknown.

Every child is a genius in his own way, they are gifted with vitality and an analytical bent of mind which was expended in the enrichment of life through the discovery of a new world under the sea.

Every class was allotted a topic and an enquiry based learning meandered…

The primary section, the eager beavers, portrayed in different hues and shapes under water flora and fauna, various treasures and minerals it holds in its bosom. Exciting water sports from ball zorbing to scuba diving kindled the love for adventurous sports. The highlight was the animation characters, toddlers bracing the attire of King Poseidon, mermaids and square pants spongebob. It was innocence personified.

As we climbed up to the secondary section a more profound world unravelled. The fifth and sixth graders enthralled the spectators with the names of a variety of scintillating sea cuisines, festivals and dances, even performed the koli dance with alacrity. The models were a kaleidoscope of the immortalised remains of sub-merged civilizations under the sea. Life along the sea shore and oceanography were also some of the topics conceptualised. The eight and the ninth graders mulled through three zones of the sea, various mysteries like the Bermuda triangle, the dead sea, issues that affect the ocean and the silently dying coral reef, the food chain, the mystery of the black deep water smokers. The tenth graders excavated the wealth of the sea, its commercial products, medicines obtained, the glittering jewels extracted from the sea bed. Sea water as a pivotal resource of Tidal energy and desalinisation were some of the topics, delving deeper into knowledge.

The projects of the senior secondary students explicated new mining methods, telecom cables, GPS, Sonar and commercial separation techniques. Eventually, the eloquence of poetry and literature based on adventures of the sea, 20,000 leagues below the sea, the ancient mariner, serenaded to the gales of the sea.

Innovation is about being exciting, creative and fun and ultimately it can lead to a learning experience. This exhibition really inspired the young innovators of the future. By highlighting the important role that innovation and creativity play on a day to day basis,it proved to be a huge success.

    26th JANUARY, 2012 SPORTS DAY

'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy' is a phrase largely known and widely accepted. We at Rajhans Vidyalaya strive to inculcate this value in our individual lives as well as was seen on 26th January, 2012, when the school celebrated its 26th Annual Sports Meet.
The excitement in the air was palpable during the weeks leading up to this day, when it reached its crescendo. Thursday morning found the students of the school's Primary, Secondary and Sr. Secondary sections dressed in their vibrant house colours of Green, Yellow, Red and Blue assembled on the school ground.
The event began with the hoisting of the Tricolour flag by the Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Sharma, our Principal Mrs. Srivastava, and our Director Capt. Kumawat. Mr. Sharma has been the Captain of the National Badminton team, 4 times National Champion and Chhatrapati Award winner. This was followed by the National Anthem being sung and the ceremonial lighting of the torch which was then carried by the sportsmen of the school in various fields such as cricket, softball, athletics etc.

Next came the 'March Past' event by the Secondary and Sr. Secondary students. It was performed in a disciplined manner by all the four houses: Kabir, Gyaneshwar, Kalidas and Tulsidas lead by the school captain and vice captain. This event was won by the Tulsidas house. The junior students performed events such as musical drill, malkhamb, yoga etc. with absolute dedication and perfection. Races were organized for students, parents and teachers alike and were carried out with great enthusiasm by both the participants and audience.

The prize distribution ceremony took place where medals were bestowed upon all the winners. Kalidas house won the House Shield and Kabir house followed.

A motivating speech by our honoured guest marked the end of the event. All athletes and the audience then departed for their homes filled with the feeling of patriotism and most importantly of sportsmanship.

18th FEBRUARY, 2012 GRANDPARENT'S DAY & SPORTS FOR THE MOBILE CRECHES

Rajhans Vidyalaya celebrated Grandparent's Day and sports for the Mumbai Mobile Crèches on Saturday, the 18th February, 2012. Mrs. Mala Ramadurai, a trustee of Hansraj Morarji Charitable Trust presided over the occasion.

The function started off with sports for the enthusiastic and energetic grandparents of Rajhans Vidyalaya primary students . They relived their childhood days by participating in races like Marble & Spoon and Book Balancing. It was a feast for the eyes to watch the grandparents and their grandchildren come together in events such as Filling the Water bottle and Arranging the Table." Indeed the relationship between a grandparent and grandchild is divine and magical" , and this was experienced by one and all present on the ground. The little children too enjoyed watching and cheering their loving grandparents . This annual feature in the Rajhans calendar strengthens the family bond which is very essential in today's mechanical life.

Along with family bonding Rajhans tries to inculcate a sense of social responsibility as well. Sports for the children of Mumbai Mobile Crèches was conducted on the same day , where in children from construction sites were gathered on our school ground. These children, who had never been out of their small world , were awestruck on seeing such a huge ground all for themselves to play and enjoy. Different races were organized for these kids and all the participants were gifted with goody bags , T - shirts and art books. The smile on their faces was priceless!! It was amazing to see the students of Rajhans Vidyalaya voluntarily fulfilling their social responsibilities with dedication and sincerity.

It was an eventful day where each and every Rajhansite learnt to respect , love , share and care.
